Obituary of Kenneth Troy

Kenneth "Ken" Troy, 70, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023.  He was born in Buffalo, NY and at age 8 moved to Florida with his parents and sisters - Sharon (Greg) Centanne and Kathy (Steve) Hansen. He was a master at "snapping" the dish towel at his sisters during cleanup after dinner. He was known for his puns and one-liners.

Ken had a real love of music.  He was always drumming his hands on end tables, walls and steering wheels to the beat of his music.  He played the drums his entire adult life.  He really enjoyed his jam sessions with his buddies on Monday nights.

After serving 4 years in the Air Force as a medic, he continued his path in the medical field.  He was a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital - working triage in the ER for 18 years.  He was a pioneer for men in the nursing field.  He then earned his master's degree and became an ARNP - Nurse Practitioner.  He worked at Morton Plant Hospital for Bay Area Chest Physicians for many years.  Later in his career he worked for Hospice. Ken touched thousands of lives over the years with his compassion and kindness. In retirement, he helped care for his aging parents - Alice and John Troy.  His devotion to them was unwavering.  

Ken loved doting on his nieces and nephews and was known as the "Fun Uncle".  He enjoyed cheering for the Bucs and Rays.  He loved going to concerts and shows with his family and friends, as well as lunches with his buddies. Ken was a kind and thoughtful man, who was taken from us far too soon.  Rock On Ken - We Love You!
