Obituary of Mary Ann Dillon

Mary Ann Dillon, 67, of Lakeland passed away November 2, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Health in the Intensive Care Unit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Stanley Stec; and her siblings Richard and Teresa Stec. Mary Ann is survived by her son Stephen Dillon, and her siblings Bonnie, Stanley, Stephen, and Gregory. Born and raised in Irvington, New Jersey, Mary Ann spent most of her younger years of life living in the state of New Jersey. She moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she had her only son, Stephen, and spent much of her time in Florida living there. Mary Ann graduated from Montclair State University with her bachelor’s degree, and New York University with her master’s degree on her path to becoming a Registered Dietitian. Throughout her life, Mary Ann worked at many hospitals as a dietitian both in New Jersey and Florida, including Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater, Florida. She was loved by the patients and all who worked with her, including doctors, nurses, kitchen staff, and even the janitors.

Mary Ann was an integral part of Holy Family Church and School in St. Petersburg throughout her life. She was active in the Welcoming Committee, Lectors, and the Council of Catholic Women. Anywhere Mary Ann went, she would make friends and would talk with anyone who would listen. She loved to shop, pray, and listen to music in her spare time. Mary Ann will surely be missed by all who knew her through family, work, or church.

Mary Ann’s viewing will take place November 13, 2023 between 4 PM and 6 PM at Anderson McQueen Tribute Center located at 2201 Dr. Martin Luther King Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Her funeral Mass will take place November 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 200 78th Ave NE St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
