Obituary of Timothy Daniel McKinnon

Timothy Daniel McKinnon, known to his loved ones as Tim, passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 60 in St. Petersburg, FL after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 26, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts, Tim was a beloved individual who left a lasting impact on all family and friends. Tim will be remembered for his loving and free-spirited nature. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Tim had a deep passion for hockey, particularly the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins. He delighted in attending hockey games with his daughters, creating fond memories. Additionally, Tim was an adventure enthusiast, enjoying activities like skiing, roller coasters, and any thrilling experience with his family and friends. Above all, Tim was a devoted "papa" to his granddaughter, Mia. He treasured every moment spent with her and made it a priority to be present in her life. In addition, he took on the role of “papa” to his fiancé, Carol’s grandchildren and loved them like his own. Tim's love and dedication to his family was unwavering. 

Timothy Daniel McKinnon is survived by his daughters, Sara McKinnon and Rachel Bradley (Cameron). He is also survived by his sister, Laurie Nicholson (Robert), and his brothers, Terrence McKinnon Jr (Virginia), Paul, David (Wendy), and Stephen (Melissa) and all of his loving nieces and nephews. Tim's adored granddaughter, Mia Bradley, will forever hold a special place in his heart and he in hers. He was engaged to Carol Pratt, who brought additional joy to his life, along with her grandchildren Emmett, Emmanuel, and Emilee. 

Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Terrence (Terry) McKinnon, and his mother, Barbara McKinnon.

A ceremony to honor and celebrate the life of Timothy Daniel McKinnon will be held on December 30th at Anderson McQueen at 2201 Dr. M.L.K. Jr. St North in St. Petersburg, FL from 4-6pm for family and friends with the ceremony beginning at 6pm. The funeral home has been entrusted with assisting the family during this difficult time. 

Tim's infectious personality and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who mourn his loss.
