Obituary of Kathy Towne

Katherine "Kathy" Towne, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 79. Surrounded by her loving family, Kathy bid farewell to this world in the comfort of her own home. Born to Margaret and William Cassell in the picturesque town of Tupper Lake, NY, Kathy’s journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

During her formative years, Kathy attended Clifton Fine High School, where she not only excelled academically, but also discovered something truly special. It was within the walls of this educational institution that she met Lawrence Towne, the man who would become the love of her life. Their bond grew stronger with time, and even after Lawrence's passing, Kathy carried his memory in her heart.

Kathy’s legacy lives on through her two daughters, Diane and Nicole, who were a constant source of pride and joy for her. In addition to her daughters, Kathy leaves behind a beautiful lineage of three grandchildren, Kate, Josh, and Hailey, as well as two great-grandchildren. Family was at the core of Kathy’s  existence, and her dedication as a homemaker and her unwavering faith were testaments to her strength and love.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Kathy, will remember her for many things. Her quick wit and sharp sense of humor brought laughter to countless gatherings, making her a delightful presence in any room. Additionally, Kathy had a slight coffee addiction, which only added to her vibrant personality. Her warm and likable nature made her a caring friend, always ready to lend a listening ear or offer a comforting shoulder.

A memorial service will be held on December 23, 2023, at Anderson McQueen. Located at 2201 DR. MLK St. N., St. Petersburg, this gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate Kathy’s life. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, allowing everyone to pay their respects and honor the memory of a truly extraordinary individual.
