Obituary of Paul Allen Edgar

Paul Allen Edgar passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2024 after a brief illness. Paul was born in Schenectady NY on February 23rd, 1943and moved with his Parents and Brother to St. Petersburg FL in 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents Simone Jennings and William J Edgar who were the Owners of HD Cafeteria. Paul spent most of his life in St Petersburg and joined the Family business HD Cafeteria, eventually taking over Management when his Parents Simone & William retired. At one time HD Cafeteria had locations in Lakeland, Winter Haven, Dunedin, Caladesi, Clearwater and three locations in St. Petersburg. Paul was active in the Florida Restaurant Association for many years and was elected President in 1987. Paul retired from the restaurant business in March 1996 and never one to sit still, he became a Partner in Alxsis Risk Management Group in Tampa.

Paul spent his retirement active in his neighborhood and with Friends and Family. Paul took great pride in his Son Frank William Edgar and enjoyed watching him become successful restauranter and catering Owner.

Paul is survived by his loving Wife Sherry, Son Frank, Granddaughter Molly, John Edgar and Wife Karen, Nephews William Edgar and Steven Strong.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 14th at 11am at St Thomas Episcopal Church at 1200 Snell Isle Blvd. St Petersburg FL 33707.
