Obituary of Mary Elena Papadelis

Mary Elena Casalini Papadelis passed away on April 22, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born in New York City and moved to Florida in 1976. She worked for Oravisual Company in Human Resources and GTE Directories as a Marketing Analyst. She was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the CCW. After retirement, she enjoyed travel, Opera, and lunching with her friends. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and most recently spent time connecting with friends at the Sunshine Center.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband George Papadelis, her parents Concetta and Victor Casalini, her sisters Victoria Petronio and Ann Psathas, her brother Angelo Casalini, and step-daughter Johanna Papadelis.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Vantrease (John) of Lakeland, FL; her granddaughters Jeannie, Julie, and Jacklyn Vantrease; her son Michael Papadelis; her grandson Henry Papadelis, of Queens, NY; great-granddaughter Caroline Papadelis; nieces Hope Palladino (James) Laurence of Harbor, NJ and their children Timothy, Jeffrey, Nicolas and Rebecca Palladino; Paula Hyland (Peter) of Washington Township, NJ and their children Joseph and Ryan Hyland, Nieces Stacy Remantas, Victoria Horvath (John) and Nephew Steven Remantas; cousins Yohanna Casalini and Carla Yustinich of Windsor CT, and her beloved dog Daisy.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M.L.King Street North St. Petersburg, FL 33704 from 2 pm - 4pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Avenue NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702 at 10:30 am followed by interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Avenue N,Clearwater, FL 33760.


In lieu of flowers, it was Mary’s request that a donation be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind or
to the SPCA of Tampa Bay.
