Obituary of Curtis Crawford

Curtis Crawford passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, after a very brief illness.  He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Crawford, and his mother, Vergie Mae Crawford.

Curtis was born in Charlotte, NC on July 22, 1959.  After graduating from high school, Curtis attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.  There he was captain of the basketball team and valedictorian of his class.  Curtis received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1983.  He then went on to further his education at Everest University in Jacksonville, FL, where he recieved his Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2010.

Curtis has extensive experience in behavioral and motivational skills.  His sole purpose in life was to make a difference in a young person's life.  His previous employements include Daniel Kids, Family Service Counselor in Jacksonville, Fourth Judicial Circuit State's Attorney's Office, Case Manager for First Time Offenders in Jacksonville, Edward Waters College Residential Supervisor on Jacksonville.  These are just a few places where he touched lives.  

Curtis relocated to Pinellas County in 2019 and was employed by Pinellas County Schools.  In 2022 he was employed by Pinellas County Job Corps as a Resident Advisor, and in September 2023, he was employed by the Boley Centers as a Youth Employement Counselor.  He held both jobs at the time of his death.  

Curtis leaves to mourn his passing his son, Eurico (Tiffany) Polk; grandchildren, Madysen Polk and Kahari Polk; his sister, Salomie Davie; dear friends, Mary Todd Brown, Sonya Harden, Denise Taylor, and Teresa Morgan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
