Evans, Alwyne Herbert ?Al,? 90, of South Pasadena, FL, died Saturday March 11, 2000 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. He was born in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom and came here in 1976 from Toronto, Canada where he retired from the Postal Service. During WWII, he served as a civilian in Birmingham, England. Locally, he was a Mason and a Shriner. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Sunset Country Club and the St. Petersburg Chess Club. He loved to sing and was a member of the Harborside Chorus where he sang tenor. Survivors include his wife, Edith ?Edie?; one daughter, Veronica Godfrey, St. Petersburg; one brother, Henry Albert ?Alby? James, and three sisters, Glenys Constandinos, Catherine Wooldridge and Jennie Moffet all of the United Kingdom; one granddaughter, Deborah Carter, St. Petersburg; and three great grandchildren.
