Obituary of Ruby Wingard

WINGARD, Ruby, 77, of Treasure Island, died Monday, March 20, 2000 at Bayfront Medical Center. She came here in 1945 from her native Louisville, Kentucky. She was an electronics assembly supervisor for EMR Photoelectric, Princeton Junction, NJ, which made the photomultiplier tubes that provided photos from the Apollo, Voyager, and other space missions. Locally, she became, in 1958, one of the first female officers of St. Petersburg Police Department. She was Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Wingard, Brigantine, NJ; a grandson, David McGuire, Laurel, MD; a granddog, Rags, Treasure Island; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.
