Obituary of Timothy V. Tyler

Tyler, Timothy V., 53, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday April 17, 2001 of a heart attack. He came here in 1981 from his native New London, CT. In 1981, he founded Universal Fireworks, which is now known as Fireworks City, a very successful fireworks business in Pinellas Park. He was a member of the National Fireworks Association and Co-founder of the Sunshine State Pyrotechnics Association. Survivors include one daughter, Carrie L. Tyler-Stoafer, Las Vegas, NV; one son, Timothy L., Atlanta, GA; his mother, Lottie R. Tyler, Old Lyme, CT; and his companion, Dina Oertli, St. Petersburg.
