Obituary of Vernon Vern'' H. Bryant

Bryant, Vernon H. ?Vern,? 65, of Seminole, died Sunday October 22, 2000. Born in Newnan, GA, but was actually raised in the Panama Canal Zone. He came here in 1966 from Calexico, CA. After graduating from North West Missouri State College and a brief stint with the United States Air Force, he entered the teaching profession in California. Later he relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he retired as a teacher after 35 years of service teaching at Dixie Hollins and Gibbs High Schools. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Cockrell of Seminole, FL., three daughters: Andrea Bryant of New York, New York, Allison Bryant of St. Petersburg, FL., Valerie Bryant Stroud of Conover, North Carolina, three step-children: Bernard Cockrell II of Tampa, FL., Guy Cockrell of Howie in the Hills and Cheryl Cockrell of Seminole, FL; six grandchildren: Destini Bryant, Benjamin Cockrell, Christine Cockrell, Nicholas Cockrell, Quinn Cockrell and Brooke Cockrell; and his mother Allena Kelly of Seminole, FL. Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday Oct. 26 at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Bobbitt Chapel, 7820-38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL, 33710.
