Obituary of Thomas H. Beatty

Beatty, Thomas H. Jr., 78, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday October 22, 2000 at home under Hospice care. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, he came here in 1925. He retired from GTE after 28 years as a telephone technician in St. Petersburg. He served in the Army during World War II, and was a former member of Pasadena Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indian Rock in Largo, FL. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Meryl of St. Petersburg, two sons: John R. Beatty of Wellington, FL and Thomas H. Beatty III of Seminole, FL, three sisters: Wanda Dixon of St. Petersburg, Marjorie Miller of Tampa, FL and Hazel McClelland of Plant City, FL, three grandchildren: Jonathan, Timothy and Julie Beatty.
