Obituary of Ruth A. Wenz

Wenz, Ruth A., 79, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, November 4, 2000 at Hospice House Woodside. She came here in 1921 from her native Lakeland, Florida. She was a graduate of St. Pete High, Class of 1939. Locally, she owned and operated Ruth?s Beauty Salon, 735-4th Street South, from 1949-1953 and then co-owned and operated the Jockey Club Bar, 450 Central Avenue, from 1953-1975. She was Baptist and a member of the St. Petersburg Shuffle Board Club. Survivors include her daughter, Polly W. Frush of St. Petersburg; five grandchildren: Tracey Webster, George Frush, Jr., Mellisa Frush, John Frush, all of St. Petersburg and Johnna Sue Wenz of Lakeland, FL; and three great grandchildren.
