Obituary of Isabelle Izzy'' M. King

King, Isabelle Madeline ?Izzy,? 78, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, November 9th, 2000 at Bayfront Medical Center from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident on October 20th, 2000. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany and came here in 1952 from Hackensack, NJ. She was a graduate of St. Christopher?s Nurses College in Philadelphia and served as an Army nurse in WW II. She attained the rank of Captain, and served with honors in Indochina as a flying nurse between India and China. Locally, she worked for many years at the St. Petersburg Osteopathic Hospital and later at Doctor?s Clinic for Dr. Eugene Keig and Dr. John Killinen. Most recently, she was the track nurse at Tampa Bay Downs. She loved traveling, cooking, and sewing, and she was an avid baseball fan. She was a member of the Indochina Nurses Alumni and the Elk?s Club. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James & Linda King; 1 nephew, Kurt King; and her aunt, Anna Gaster all of St. Petersburg; her sister-in-law, Lorraine King of Dunedin; 1 niece, Patricia Bailey; 1 grand niece and 1 grand nephew, Jennifer & Geoffrey Bailey all of Colts Neck, NJ; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Parkyn of Linton Falls, NJ. The family prefers that memorials be sent to Bayfront Medical Center, 701-6th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 c/o The Trauma Program.
