Obituary of David S. Servis

David S.Srevis: salesman, WWII veteran, dear Uncle Servis, David S., 83, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday January 10, 2001 at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Born in Melrose, Massachusetts on June 17th, he came here in 1988 from Stafford, Virginia. He was the son of George O.W. and Narilla Servis. He was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1935. A long time resident of Melrose at 504 Lebanon St. until his marriage to Dorothy MacDonald in 1966. David and Dorothy resided at 56 Penny Lane in Stoneham. After the loss of his wife Dorothy and his retirement from D.F. Monroe, David resided with his nephew Rev. John Thompson in both Stafford, VA and St. Petersburg, FL. He completed his residency at Westminister Shores in St. Petersburg, FL. He retired after working 28 years in the Accounting/Sales department for D. F. Munroe, a paper distributor in Wilmington, MA. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, and also a member of the American Legion #115 in Stoneham, MA. David is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends: three nieces, Diana Servis Devlin of York, ME, Judith Searles Servis of North Pembrook, MA, and Elizabeth Thompson the wife of the late Rev. John Thompson of Sun City, FL, one nephew, Peter Servis of Wellesley, MA, and a sister-in-law, Marjorie T. Servis of Melrose, MA. Bill, David, John and Bruce Thompson of VA; Estie Thompson Class of Lewes, DE; Elizabeth MacDonald of Arnold, MD; Joseph MacDonald of Arnold, MD and long time friend Gordon McWade of Groton, MA. Visiting Hours will be from 7 to 9PM at the Barile Funeral Home 482 Main Street, Stoneham, MA on Friday, Jan. 19th. A funeral Mass will held at At. Patricks on Sat. Jan. 20 At 10 AM. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Center-Bobbitt Chapel, St. Petersburg.
