Obituary of Virgil C. Collins

Collins, Virgil C., 76, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday January 23, 2001 at Gulfcoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Bridgeport, Alabama, he came here in 1996 from Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he lived for 30 years. He was a Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marines and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Hot Springs, Arkansas and was a Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Linda G. Whelpley of St. Petersburg, 2 sisters, Alice Brawner and Martha Brown, both of Hot Springs, 1 grandson, 2 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
