Obituary of Charles H. Chuck'' Mathews

Mathews, Charles H. ?Chuck?, 97, of Pinellas Park, died Tuesday January 30, 2001 at Bon Secours Maria Manor. Born in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, he came here in 1980 from Ligonier. He received his A.B. degree from Washington & Jefferson College and his Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1953. He was a teacher with the Ligonier Public School System in Pennsylvania for 36 years where he taught social studies and languages at Ligonier Valley High School. He also taught at Holy Trinity School. He was a lifetime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ligonier and was the organist/choirmaster at Trinity Lutheran Church in Latrobe, Pennsylvania for 20 years, the organist/choirmaster at Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Ligonier, Pennsylvania for 20 years, and an organist at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg for 13 years. Survivors include 4 sons, Ellis J. of Palm City, Florida, Charles H. Jr. of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Thomas A. of St. Petersburg and Richard K. of Pinellas Park, 2 daughters, Ellen Mathews of Palm Springs, California and Rose Anne Smith of Ft.
