Obituary of Nancy Best Ayars

Ayars, Nancy Best, 92, of St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Columbia, died at her home on Sunday, February 4th, 2001. Her husband, Colonel Ben Ayars, Army Judge Advocate, died in 1957 at the age of 49. Mrs. Ayars was born in Bethune, SC and lived in Columbia after attending Coker & Chicora Colleges. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1959 and was a member of Allendale United Methodist Church. She is survived by her step-daughter, Caroline Treiber of Macon, GA; her brother, Bill Best of Charlotte, NC; 3 grandsons, Ben, Phillip, & Peter Treiber; 5 nieces, Kathleen Best Hofman of St. Petersburg; Vivian Best Carpenter of Chapin, SC; Patricia Best Gause of Atlanta, GA; Dee Ann Best Holland of Lexington, SC; and Nancy Hook of West Columbia, SC; 1 nephew, Burrell ?Bubba? Best of West Columbia, SC; and 1 great nephew, Leslie M. Best of Camden, SC. Mrs. Ayars will be buried beside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, St. Petersburg is in charge of the arrangements.
