My deepest sympathy goes out to John's family. He was a genuinely fun person who always made working with him at Marje Lincoln a better place. He never seemed to have a negative attitude, so rare in today's world. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dear Dad: Words cannot express the depth of our grief. You have always been my hero and such an inspiration to all of us. I pray that I will be blessed with your integrity and limitless compassion throughout my life, so that I may always make you proud. I will also do everything in my power to preserve Molly's memories of her beloved "Stinky Pete". You have given her more in these five short years than most grandchildren receive in a lifetime. I will do my very best to fulfill your requests and take care of mom, who loves and misses you so much. My only comfort right now is to know that you are finally free of pain and were able to retain your dignity and independence until the end. You will be in my heart and thoughts each and every day until we are together again. All of my love, Brenda

I've been so struck in the 6 years I've known Betty and John by the love and devotion they've shared. It meant so much to me after Dad died and they took me out for a special dinner. John hugged me as we left and quietly said, "Call if you need anything." So typical of the selflessness of both of them. It was clear that the most important thing to John was being sure that Betty would be okay. I hope you know that your friends and family love you and are here for you. Such a terrific loss can only be felt when there was an equally terrific relationship. For that and for the witness of what marriage can and should be that John and Betty have been to me, I am grateful. My prayers and support are with you. Love, Peg
