Gutekunst, Frederick ?Fred?, 83, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday, March 4th, 2001 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and came here in 1968 from L.I., NY where he was a meat cutter for 30 years at Trunz Meat Store, a family owned business. Locally, he was a meat cutter for 11 years at the former Pantry Pride, Food Fair, and A & P grocery stores. He was a member of Amalgamated Meat Cutters & Butcher Workmen of North America, AFL/CIO Local #282 in NY, and Grace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, where he served as an usher. Following his retirement in 1979, he was a Chaplain?s Assistant at St. Anthony?s Hospital and Grace Lutheran Church. He loved gardening, ceramics, and fishing. He is survived by 3 sons, Kenneth F. of St. Petersburg, Frederick H. of Silver Creek, NY, and Richard K. of Covington, LA; 2 daughters, Susan L. Kostynick of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Nancy J. McClure of St. Petersburg; 1 brother, Carl of Orlando; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
