Obituary of Norman Kenneth Hall

Hall, Norman Kenneth, 82, of St. Petersburg died Friday March 16, 2001 at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. Born in Columbus, PA, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1968 from Las Vegas, NV. He was a retired Lt. Colonel with the US Air Force having served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of North East Park Baptist Church. His affiliations included Coast Guard Auxilliary ? Flotilla 72 where he was the Commander in 1975, the Vice Commander in 1974, and held the following positions: Instructor, Coxswain Most Highly Skilled Qualifications in the Performance of Auxillary Boat Performances, Member Training Officer, and Member Training Officer Division 7 Staff. He also received the Operational Merit Medal in 1980 for his performance during the sinking of the Blackthorn; Retired Officers Association; Reserve Officers Association; Life Member of the D.A.V. ? Gateway 127; Coconut Grove Masonic Lodge # 258 F. A. & M. ? Miami; Planetary Society; Zero Population Growth Society; Population Institute; Cousteau Society; Negative Population Society; Population Environment; and the Arthritis Foundation. Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Louise; three 3 daughters: Marilyn Moore ? Knoxville, TN, Judith Fay Lutz ? Fredonia, NY, and Phyllis Kay Phillips ? Bella Vista, AR; seven 7 grandchildren; and nine 9 great grandchildren. Family prefers donations to Masonic Home of Florida or Flotilla 72 of USCG Auxilliary.
