Obituary of D. Dale Hamilton

Hamilton, D. Dale, Jr., 78, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday May 9, 2001 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Mr. Hamilton lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and four children until 1978, when he retired as founder and President of General Roofing Company. While in Pennsylvania, he served for many years on the Steward Board at Bower Hill Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Hamilton also served as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Locally Mr. Hamilton was a member of St. Petersburg Country Club. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine Whitmer Hamilton, four children, D. Dale Hamilton, III, Kathleen A. Hamilton Davis, Janet Claire Ogley and Lynne Denise Harkreader, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, a brother, Hugh M. Hamilton and several nieces and nephews.
