Obituary of John A. Hutchins

Hutchins, John A. Jr., Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired, 73, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday May 9, 2001 after complications suffered while recovering from Guillain-Barre. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, he was a graduate of Norwich University and received his Master?s Degree from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the military for a distinguished 26 years, with tours of duty in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Iran and Panama. He retired with his family to St. Petersburg in 1976 and was an active Real Estate broker in the area owning John Hutchins Realty. He was a member of the Alpha Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity of Norwich University, St. Petersburg Suncoast Board of Realtors, St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Retired Officers Club of St. Petersburg, the Florida Westcoast Orchid Society, and St. Raphael?s Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, John A., III, Londonderry, NH; a sister, Dorothy Watkins, Camarillo, CA; and a grandson, John A. Hutchins, IV, Londonderry, NH.
