Fitzgerald, Bernard, 81, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday May 19, 2001 at home. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he came here in 1969 from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was a metal lather in the construction industry and an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, St. Petersburg and Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Edna J. Fitzgerald, a daughter, Bernice F. Connell of Montclair, New Jersey, 3 sons, Ronald W. Fitzgerald of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Donald P. Fitzgerald of Lewisville, North Carolina and Kevin P. Fitzgerald of Lilburn, Georgia, 2 sisters, Kay Woodhead of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada and Helen Shipley of Ontario, Canada, 3 brothers, Jerry Welch, Ronald Welch and Jack Welch, all of Ontario, Canada, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
