VanBenthuysen, Donald A. ?Don?, 72, of St. Petersburg, died Monday May 21, 2001 at Edward White Hospital of cardiac arrest. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he came here 30 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Baptist. He was an engineer for Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, Indiana for 17 years. He was a member of the Masons and Engelwood Lodge #715 F.&A.M. in Indianapolis. After moving to Florida, he became involved in real estate and owned and operated The Don Juan Motel on Redington Shores. He also started AVCO Roofing Company in St. Petersburg. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Chris VanBenthuysen, a son, Steve A. VanBenthuysen of St. Petersburg, 2 daughters, Debbie VanBenthuysen of Tampa, Florida and Denise Virgilio of Acworth, Georgia, 2 brothers, Raymond VanBenthuysen of Noble, Louisiana and David VanBenthuysen of Cuba, Missouri, 2 grandsons, Eric VanBenthuysen and Allen VanBenthuysen, both of St. Petersburg, 3 granddaughters, Kimberly VanBenthuysen of St. Augustine, Florida and Michelle Virgilio and Nicole Virgilio, both of Acworth, Georgia, and 2 great grandchildren.
