Obituary of Clarence Donald Don'' Myers

Myers, Dr. Clarence Donald ?Don?, 77, of St. Petersburg died Sunday May 27, 2001. Born in Bluefield, W.Va., he came to Tampa in 1963 from Columbus, OH and then moved to St. Petersburg in 1964. A graduate of Ohio State University, he retired as an optometrist in 1978. He was an Army veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He was a former member of the Mid-Town Kiwanis, Pinellas Manufacturers Association, American Optometric Association, Pinellas County Optometric Association Past President, VFW, Disabled Veteran?s and National Rifle Association. He had been an adjunct instructor at St. Petersburg Junior College. A gifted guitar player, he was a former member of the PROBUS Band Professional Businessman?s band as well as the ?Awfuls? Band with the Mid-Town Kiwanis. His hobbies included an interest in trains. Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Lois M.; three 3 daughters: Lois Ann Rindone ? Indianapolis, IN, Kathy Louise Compton ? Stone Mountain, Ga., and Becky Bunch ? Crystal River & Redington Beach, FL; two 2 grandsons: Joseph Otto Compton IV ? Stone Mountain, Ga. & Clarence Donald Compton ? Deltona, FL; and two 2 great granddaughters: Alexandria Eleanor Compton and Kaitlyn Myers Compton ? both of Deltona, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to All Children's Hospital. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center ? Ninth St. Chapel.
