Obituary of Adrian S. Bacon

Bacon, Adrian S., 77, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday June 3, 2001 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Edison, Georgia, he came here in 1945 from Americus, Georgia. He attended schools in Atlanta and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, was an Assistant City Attorney in St. Petersburg from 1948-1954 and was in private practice with the law firm of Bacon, Bacon, Johnson and Goddard, P.A., since 1954. He was an aerial gunner in the Eighth Air Force during WWII and was awarded several service medals, including the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Caterpillar Club, a past president of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Mean High Waterline Committee, the Census Commission of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, the Tampa Bay Board of Pilot Commissioners, the Mound Park Hospital Board, the St. Anthony?s Hospital Board, the City of St. Petersburg Pension Board, the Bi-Racial Committee, the Suncoasters, the Squire?s Club, Lakewood Country Club, St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Historical Museum, and St. Peters Episcopal Cathedral, where he was a Vestryman and Senior Warden. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte S. Bacon, a son, David Adrian Bacon, St. Petersburg, 2 daughters, Linda Bacon-Nall, Orlando, Florida and Cynthia B. Allison, St. Petersburg, 2 granddaughters, Katherine E. Bacon and Brittny P. Bacon, both of St. Petersburg, and several nieces and nephews.
