Obituary of James Frank Byers

Byers, James Frank, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday July 8, 2001 at home. Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he came here in 1922 from Hendersonville. He retired from the Department of Revenue of the State of Florida where he was a real estate regulator for 15 years. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII, a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, a charter member of the Squires Club in St. Petersburg, a former member of Feather Sound Country Club and the Over-the-Hill Gang in St. Petersburg, a graduate of Georgia Military School, attended St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of Florida, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Mary Byers Tracey of St. Petersburg, a nephew, Robert W. Johnston of St. Petersburg, a niece, Mary J. Wyatt of Mobile, Alabama, 2 stepsons, Keith C. Leibfried of Live Oak, Florida and J. Christian Millrose of Tampa, Florida, and numerous grandchildren.
