Obituary of Neida Hart

Hart, Neida, 103, of Clearwater, died Thursday July 27, 2001 at the Oaks of Clearwater Nursing Care Center. She was born in 1897 in Denver, moved to New York in her teens, and began appearing on stage when she was 15 years old. Mrs. Hart, who toured as Neida Snow, earned dancing parts in Irene and Going Up and later appeared in Hanky Panky. That Broadway show landed her photograph on the cover of National Police Gazette magazine on Dec. 7, 1912. In 1932, she married James Hart, a florist. They moved to Farmingdale, NY, where Mrs. Hart worked 25 years as a secretary for General Re Corp. In 1958 Mrs. Hart moved to Bushnell and then St. Petersburg after the death of her husband that same year. Mrs. Hart was active in St. Peter?s Cathedral in St. Petersburg having participated in the sewing guild and church bazaars. About seven years ago, Mrs. Hart moved to the Oaks Nursing Care Center in Clearwater. She is survived by a niece, two nephews, three grandnieces, 10 grandnephews, and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
