Obituary of Willie D. Big Red'' Rector

Rector, Willie D. ?Red Bill,? 80, of Pinellas Park, died Wednesday August 29, 2001 at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in St. Petersburg after a short illness. He was born in Monticello, Kentucky and came here in 1997 from Vermilion, Ohio. He retired in 1980 from Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain, Ohio, where he was a railroad engineer for 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of the 60th Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jessie of Pinellas Park, one son, Larry W. Rector of Bellevue, Ohio, one daughter, Sarah A. and son-in-law, Michael Duerk both of Elyria, Ohio, one sister, Thelma Young of Norwalk, Ohio, three brothers, Cecil Rector of Ocala, FL, O.M. Rector, Jr. of Monticello, KY, and Emmett Rector of Missouri, five grandchildren, Justin Duerk, Jennifer Duerk, Janet Durek, Michael A. Rector, and Laura Rector, one great granddaughter, Michaela L. Bauer. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Bobbitt Chapel, St. Petersburg.
