Rock was kind enough to give me harp lessons and through these lessons we became friends. Rock was a wonderful man full of life and he shared his talent with all who asked. He lived and loved the blues. He and his wife Maureen are in my thoughts daily. Im very lucky to have met them both.

I'm gonna miss you, Rock. Your showmanship, wits, jokes and sarcasms. Thanks for taking me through the Rock Bottom's School of Blues.
There was a great memorial concert at the Muddy Waters Club in Oslo last Sunday. The club was packed with friends and fans from Norway who were there to pay their respect and to remember you.
The memory of you and your music will live on forever.
Love and strenght to Maureen and family & friends. Rigmor also sends a big bunch of love

Rock was a great person. I've been playing his music on WRFG's "Good Morning Blues" radio show for over three years. He was a talented musician, very intelligent and wrote some fine lyrics . . . and he had a cutting-edge sense of humor.
I first saw Rock perform a couple of years ago on my birthday at a club in Macon, GA. He graciously agreed to record a couple of drops for our radio show and upcoming marathon that evening before the gig.
We developed a good relationship over the phone and through e-mail. We helped get him -- along with Keith Caton and the Accelerators -- booked into a couple of Atlanta area clubs earlier this year.
We're doing a special tribute to Rock on the radio tomorrow 10-2 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. WRFG is streaming over the Internet at www.WRFG.org.
My wife who co-hosts the radio show and I will continue to play Rock's music on our show as long as we remain on the air.

I first met Rock in 1976 when I moved to FLA. He was playing with Nick Danger and The Heat @ Gulfport on the Rocks. I introduced myself to him, and we became fast friends.
I will never forget the harp duets he and I played together @ The Stuffed Pepper and our many WMNF live radio shows with Little Juke and Bobby Kyle. I also hooked up with Rock in Norway in 1984..He and I spent hours together "buskering" in the streets of Oslo. Rock never "hogged the limelight" when he and I jammed together, and always split the kitty 50/50 with me, and Ill never forget that.
But perhaps my fondest memory was when he and Maureen came out to San Francisco to visit me some years ago. We all went to dinner together and we talk about life, love of the blues, travel and many, many other things. I enjoyed watching the the look on Rocks' face when I took him to one of my favorite "underground amp dealers"!! He just smiled and said.."HMMM...HMMMM" Guess you had to be there.
Rock..I will miss you, my brother in harpistry.
And to Maureen..my love and my heart and my prayers go out to you.
With Love, admiration, and respect,
Mickey

Blow your harp and sing out loud, Rock. I did not expect you'd be snake dancin' through God's barnyard quite yet ... Thanks for letting me experience your talent, humor and generosity. I myself, and so many others in Norway owe you so much for your inspiration and patience. I miss you, big guy. God bless you, Maureen.

Rock was a very nice man. I played with him twice, the first time, before I had even been introduced to him, he walked onstage, and I really didn't know who or how talented Rock was. By the time we finished the set, I knew, because Rock treated me like we knew each other for years, not like he was better, this taught me a very large lesson in life, its not how talented you are, its how you share your talent with others. I'll miss you Rock. T.

My Friend of 34 years...there's just too many memories and things to say. Thank you for being my campaign manager in 1967, for my prehistoric palm frond cuff links, for giving my daughter birthdays that she will always remember, for calling me every day when I was sick, for always remembering my Mom and, most of all, for being the best friend anyone could ask for.
Love and respect always,
