Obituary of Kathleen Joan Bollard

Bollard, Kathleen Joan, 80, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday November 13, 2001 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Born in Bancroft, Nebraska, she came here in 1981 from Marietta, Georgia. She was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and was a homemaker. She spent 17 years in Europe, residing in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and London, where she was president of Mrs. John Hay Whitney?s Embassy Wives Club. She also resided in Mannheim, Germany, where she was president of the Transportation Corps Officer?s Wives Club, and in Frankfurt, Germany, where she was president of St. Christopher?s Episcopal Women?s Club. In 1975, she was evacuated from Saigon, Vietnam, where she was acting as an escort for the Holt Orphanage Baby Lift. After moving to St. Petersburg, she was a member of the City Beautiful Commission, a member and past president of the Garden Club of St. Petersburg, and a member of St. Philip?s Anglican Church, where she was on the Altar Guild. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Franklyn, a son, John Bollard of Middlesex, Vermont, a daughter, Susette LaFlesche Bollard of Montpelier, Vermont and 3 grandchildren.
