Petkanas, Stephen G. ?Steve?, 79, of Clearwater, died Wednesday December 19, 2001 at Sun Coast Hospital. Born in New York, New York, he came here in 1995 from Long Island, New York. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII where he served as a medic. He was a furrier and a member of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the Sunshine Ahepa Association, Agape Club, a member of the Leisure Timers, past president of Clearwater Trinity Church Group, a past board member of the Horizon House Apartments, former board member of the Church of Recorrection and a L.I.A.C.C. board member in Westbury, New York. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Petkanas, 2 daughters, Lia DiNapoli of Ossining, New York and Stephanie Petkanas of New York, New York, a son, George T. Petkanas of Putnam Valley, New York, a brother, Ernest Petkanas of Huntington, New York, a sister, Elaine Rusulis of Clearwater, Florida and 4 grandchildren.
