Obituary of Joseph W. Gibson

Gibson, Joseph W., 89, of Clearwater, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Monday December 17, 2001 at Mease Hospital Countryside. Born in Old Fort, North Carolina, he came here in 1949 from Tacoma Park, Maryland. He retired from Prudential Insurance after 30 years of service as a CLU agent. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was for many years a member of the Lions Club and a past participant in the City of St. Petersburg Committee of 100. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Gibson, 1 daughter, Cynthia Stiffler of Cary, North Carolina, 1 son, Jim Gibson of Seminole, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
