Obituary of James Edwin Lewallen

Lewallen, James Edwin ?Jim?, 43, of St. Petersburg and Tampa, died Tuesday January 8, 2002 in St. Petersburg. Born and raised in St. Petersburg he moved to Tampa for fourteen years and recently moved back to St. Petersburg. He was a real estate consultant and general manager. Jim devoted his life to animal rights issues, spending 12 years as the president of Florida Voices for Animals. He also wrote The Camp, which was published by the National Coalition for the Homeless. He was an alumnus of USF, Tampa and UF, Gainesville and received his Masters in Public Administration from California State University at Long Beach. Jim will be missed by his loving daughters Meghan and Taylor, his loving wife Cindy Lewallen of Lutz, his father James P. Lewallen of St. Petersburg, his sister Janet Lewallen of Los Angeles, his niece Christina Nguyen of Los Angeles, his uncle and aunt John and Carol Ellis of St. Petersburg, and by his cousins John B. Ellis, Mark Ellis and Brenda Ellis, all of St. Petersburg, Dr. Linda Lewallen of Tampa, Lana Kiser of Dallas, and Laura Lee Peters of Sarasota. The family asks that no flowers be sent.
