Obituary of William Bill'' R. Johnson

Johnson, William R. ?Bill,? 74, died Monday February 11, 2002 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Highlands, NJ, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He moved to Orlando in January of 1948. He came to St. Petersburg in 1972 after having lived in Jacksonville for two years. He was a manufacturing representative for Dixie Textile in Orlando, LaFrance Reupholstering Company in Jacksonville, and later United Fabrics of Pennsauken, NJ. He volunteered for St. Petersburg Free Clinic. He was also an avid sports car fan. He enjoyed doing jig-saw and crossword puzzles, and puttering around in his garage. He was Episcopalian. Survivors include his wife, Ora ?Lee?; two sons: Robert, Jacksonville, FL; and Richard, Trumbull, CT; two grandchildren: Courtney, VT; and Ryan, CT; one brother, Johnny, Leonardo, NJ; two sisters: Edna Mae McDaniel, Long Branch, NJ; and Catherine White, WV; and several nieces and nephews in NJ and WV.
