Obituary of Irene C. Litchfield

Litchfield, Irene Campbell, 95, of St. Petersburg, died Friday Feb. 15, 2002 at Bayfront Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Hitt, Missouri she moved here from New Hampshire in 1972. Her long career as an R.N. took her to numerous places around the world. She married Capt. John R. Litchfield, U.S.N. in Panama and they spent many winters living on their boat in St. Petersburg, while summering in New Hampshire before she became a permanent resident here. She was a member of the Women?s Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Women?s Club, Stuart Society, English Speaking Union, Museum of Fine Arts, Retired Officer?s Club, and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Jeanne Thompson, St. Petersburg and Dorna Allen, Cape Cod, MA; a stepson, John K. Litchfield, Bedford, MA; a sister, Mary C. Griffith, Oakland, CA, a niece, Judy Lewis, Des Moines, Iowa, several other nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
