Obituary of Phyllis Booker-Hoffman

Booker-Hoffman, Phyllis ?PJ,? 53, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday February 19, 2002 at Palms of Pasadena after a short illness. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she came here in 1993 from Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Nursing Degree. She was licensed in Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and Texas. For two years, she worked as a scrub nurse at a military hospital in Germany. After returning from Germany, she practiced in Montgomery, Alabama and Amarillo, Texas for several years. Then she worked as Ships Nurse on several cruise lines. In 1992, she was part of the crew on the maiden voyage of the Raddison Diamond that followed the route Columbus had sailed. As a teenager, she was a certified lifeguard. She enjoyed crafts and oil painting. She studied painting while living in New Mexico. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Elks Lodge #1224. Survivors include three sons: Robert C. Ullom and Joshua Booker, both of St. Petersburg; and Jeremy Booker, Valdosta, GA; a daughter, Jennifer Booker, Dade City, FL; two brothers: Jay Justison, Orlando, FL; and Jon Justison, St. Petersburg; two grandchildren; and her parents, Frank and Evelyn Justison, St. Petersburg; Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-McLeod Chapel.
