Obituary of Avron I. Bryan

Avron I. Bryan, 85, of Cocoa Beach, FL, died February 1, 2014. He was born In Macon, GA and was raised in Miami where he excelled in sports at Edison High School. He was a 1951 graduate of the University of Tampa where he had a scholarship for playing basketball. He has two Master Degrees one in Systems Engineering and one in Mathematics from University of Florida. He was an officer with the Coast Guard and a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed for 5 years with General Electric as a Design Engineer for Atomic Energy and Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles applications. And then for 32 years with Jet Propulsion Laboratory Deep Space Net as a Systems Engineer and Technical Manager for JPL Ground Tracking Systems for Deep Space Missions (Cocoa Beach, FL). Since retirement, he has partnered in business to design embedded computer control systems for Waste Water Facilities and Insecticide control systems. He has been issued 13 US Patents. Eleven patents based on implementation of on-line intelligent tests to provide real-time operational verification of chemical sensors. Avron was a avid golfer who has 4 documented holes-in-one. He also enjoyed jogging and persuing academia of all kinds. He is survived by his wife of 63 yrs. June Nance Bryan; 1 son David W. Bryan of Tampa, FL; 1 daughter, Margaret B. (David) Reiter of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 2 brothers, Harry (Annette) Bryan of Weston, FL, Robert (Gina) Bryan of Miami, FL; 1 sister, Patricia (Charles) Hauser of Hampton, VA; 2 grandsons, Lewis W Rivers III, David E.
