Obituary of Lynn Thomas Carr

Lynn Thomas Carr, Jr. 87, of St. Petersburg, Florida, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 19, 2001 at Edward White Hospital. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky and moved to St. Petersburg in 1947 from Tampa, Florida where he was a 1933 graduate of Hillsborough High School. He and his brothers started the Tropical Grocery Company in St. Petersburg in 1947 which later became Carr Brothers Institutional Foods. He later sold his interest in the business to his brothers and became an outside Sales Representative for Physicians Wholesale in Tampa with his son-in-law. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy B. Carr, two sons, Dudley T. Carr of Bradenton, Florida, Randall B. Carr of St. Petersburg, three daughters, Jan Berggren of Brandon, Florida, Lynn Howard of St. Petersburg, Susan Noah of Moore, South Carolina, two brothers, Kenneth Carr and R. Frisbie Carr both of St. Petersburg, one sister, Eleanor Michaels of Brandon, Florida, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Lynn Thomas Carr, Sr. and Maude Oldacre Carr. $(document).ready(function(){ });
