Obituary of Virginia C. Marr

Virginia C. Marr, 84, of St. Petersburg, Florida died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born in Statesville, NC and came here in 1940 from Morganton, NC. She was a 1936 graduate of Rutherford College in NC and was a 1938 graduate of Cecil's Business School in Asheville, NC. She worked at the Dept. Of Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Bay Pines for 50 years retiring in 1990 as the secretary to the Director. She had served under six directors prior to retirement. She was a member of Fifth Ave. Baptist Church where she was a member of the All States Bible Class, Young At Heart Sr. Adult Group, and Women's Missionary Union. She is survived by one son, Richard F. of Rancho Santa Fe, CA; two sisters, Nelle C. Anderson and Sue R. Curlee both of Tallahassee, FL; and four grandchildren, Richard F. Marr, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Charles E. Marr of Charlottesville, VA; William Hunter Marr, and Elaine F. Sexton both of Los Angeles, CA.
