Obituary of Sandra M. Martin

Martin, Sandra Marie On Saturday, January 19, 2013, we began to mourn the loss of a spectacular woman. Sandy was an adoring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and confidant. Her strength and bravery to the end is unmatched yet bewildering to most. Though, those of us who knew her well would expect nothing less from her. She fought an arduous battle with stage 4 brain cancer for the last two years with the same conviction she approached everything in her life. Her middle child, Jaime, is severely hearing impaired and her youngest child, Paul, was severely dyslexic and Sandy devoted most of her life to assuring that Jaime and Paul would get the best education and that Jaime would have all the tools needed to live in the hearing world. This led her to her chosen career path of Speech Pathology. She graduated at the top of her class; Summa Cum Laude at USF with a Master's Degree at the age of 46. She loved working with the children and until the time of her illness was making a difference at Azalea Elementary School. Though she now lived in St. Petersburg, FL, she was originally from Blackwood, NJ. Sandy, Judy and Susan were the first set of triplets to be born on Christmas Day in the United States. She is survived by the love of her life, Paul Martin, her devoted husband of 30 years; her three children, Amber Martin (Oliver Harrison), Jaime Martin (Chris Baul) and Paul Martin, III; her loving family pet, Sammy; eight grandchildren, twins Brianna and Zachary, twins David and Dylan, Diana, Aspyn, Jacquelyn and Brittany; two brothers, Alan Marinelli (Jeanne Marinelli) of Texas, Tonay Marinelli (Doreen Marinelli) of MA; three sisters, Anne Marinelli Poole (Gary Poole) of NZ, Judy Maglio (Carmen Maglio) of NJ, and Susan Marinelli (Zeus) of St. Petersburg. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Marinelli, the wife of her late brother, Frank Marinelli; and many, many nieces and nephews.
