Obituary of Janet Sutton Van Vleet

Janet Sutton Van Vleet, 93, passed away on May 27, 2018, in Bradenton, Florida. 

Born in Medina, New York, she was the daughter of William and Beulah Sutton.  Janet graduated from Albion High School in 1940.  She was an Air Force wife and lived in many parts of the country as well as Panama.  She engaged in many activities with the Air Force Wives and hosted a number of functions. 

Janet was a member of the Methodist Church in Knowlesville, New York, and attended Lutheran Church of the Cross in St. Petersburg, Florida.  She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, and working with Brownies and Girl Scouts.  Janet enjoyed following the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Rays.

Among the many trips Janet enjoyed with her family were to Panama, South America, China, Austria, and Germany. 

She is survived by her children Gereen (David) Preston and Edward (Kathleen) Van Vleet,  her grandchildren Scott (Tracy)Preston, Wendy (Craig) Smith, Terrence (Aimee) Preston, Andrew (Vanitha) Preston, Stacey (Abhishek Kaicker) Van Vleet, Amanda Van Vleet, and her nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents,former husband and her sister. 

The memorial service will be held on July 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home (2201 Dr. Martin Luther King Street North, St. Petersburg Florida 33704).
