I am so very sorry for the loss of a wonderful lady. Cary was always full of grace and treated others kindly. A woman with both extreme class and integrity. It was an honor to call her Aunt Cary. She will be missed but always remembered. Edie Bond

My Condolences to your family. The Grand Dame sounds like a lovely lady.
When I saw the Lamar name I read the OB - I am also a Lamar, LQC Lamar, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is my great Uncle. We are all from the same family tree. I would love to talk to a family member to find out how closely related we are. My father was H Lamar Roberts, his mother was Camille Lamar who married Warren Roberts, they lived in Macon. The Lamar (Lamore) family comes from Wicre, France originally, Thomas Lamar moved to Virginia in 1660. It is a big family all over the South. I recently found out that King Henry VII was my 13th great grandfather! Best Regards, Camille

Oh what a loss to the world! Carey was a great friend to Betty Goddard, Betsy's & my mother. I had the pleasure of being with her , after so many years, at Highlands Falls County Club, each summer, for many years, when she came up to visit dear friends & PLAY BRIDGE!. Her daughters took wonderful care of her.
I will miss her glittering presence!

Cary was a remarkable woman who deeply touched my life. Her grace, her spunk, her zest for life were contagious. I will ever be grateful for the hours we spent together at the Bridge table. She was my Bridge mentor, but also my mentor for precious life lessons. Barbara, Judy, and family, you were tenacious in your constant love and care. A mother could not ask for more devotion. May you now cherish your memories and know that she was beloved by her friends also.

A great lady – with myriad talents, style and warmth.
Whether at a reception, at church or attending a Stuart
Society meeting, when she entered the room, the grace and charm
in the room would congeal.
Her mother, Nellie Greene, was a member of St. Peter’s
Cathedral. We decided that Mrs. Bond was an adopted
member. I even had a name badge made for her.
Cary Bond loved that.
Her friendships were close and enduring and she never
forgot anyone in whatever walk in life.
Simply stated: She was the Queen of St. Petersburg.
