Obituary of Karen A. LoBianco

LoBianco, Karen A, 77, of St. Petersburg passed away July 4th, 2021. A 62 year resident of the area, she graduated from Dixie Hollins High School and Florida State University where she was a sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. She was preceded in death by her parents Lee Shaffer and James R. Abercrombie. Karen is survived by her husband of 54 years James J. LoBianco; her children Amy Sanford (Bryan), Christine Wallace (James) and James E. LoBianco (Jenny); siblings Becky Panko, Kelly Springer, and Jamie Abercrombie. Her grandchildren Emily Wallace (Audrey), James Wallace Jr. , Nick Sanford and Annie Sanford. Also survived by sister in law Joan LoBianco Walker (David), brothers in law, Kenneth LoBianco (Patricia) and John LoBianco Jr. (Robin). Karen was a loving wife and partner and a devoted mother. Her passion for gardening, interior design and gourmet cooking was evident to anyone lucky enough to enjoy her hospitality. Active in civic life here locally she served proudly on the All Children's Hospital Guild, was a member of The Saint Petersburg Catholic High School School Board and fed many a hungry Shorecrest Charger Varsity football player with meatballs and mostaccioli. A lifelong pet owner and animal lover in general her many furry children always loved their mama. Her sense of humor, can do attitude and razor sharp wit will live in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Karen's visitation will be Friday, July 9th, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home- 2201 Dr. MLK Street North, St. Petersburg.
