The Harris family have been our neighbors and friends for over 20 years! We’ve enjoyed Lee’s stories about his life travels, joking and jostling my husband about sports, encouraging my son. I loved seeing him on his porch- we would chat about everything and nothing! He will be missed! He was the neighbor, my family from overseas always asked about when I visited them because they remembered him from their visits here. He was that kind of person.

Lee was my boss when I first moved to North Carolina back in 1995. We hit it off so fast as we are both ex servicemen and shared many values. He would often come in during work to check up on me or grabbing me during our breaks so he can share stories about his time in the service and about the family he loved so much. We often spent lunches together, allowing me to share some of my history with him. We became close during those 2 years and was able to know his family. When I moved to Tampa back in 97, I surely missed him. Later, when him and his family moved down to Florida and so close to me, I was able to reconnect with him. Granted the times we shared were few as we both led busy lives but I always loved the opportrunity to spend time with him. He has a beautiful home, near the ocean and the views were both amazing and soothing. He was gentle, caring, and very good friend to me. He always strived to do what's best and what's right, always lend a helping hand or ear whenever you needed. I learned so much from Lee. In my case it was like a line from a movie "When the student was ready, the right people will appear". Lee made me appreciate my family and my life. His family were always so kind to me and for that, I was blessed and so grateful. I will miss him dearly. I really loved this man. (not a hard thing to do once you see that his heart was pure gold and was a very caring, loving human being. ) Im sure he would agree with me (well perhaps a bit coy... lol) that he was a class act all the way! My heart goes out to Julie & the family.

Lee was a wonderful man who's word was his bond. Truly a pleasure to have known and a friendship to have shared. I send his family my sympathy and love knowing their loss is only mediated by the blessings of having had quality years with him.

I loved this man.
I loved our chats on his front porch exchanging stories,
I was always entranced.
His stories always started with or came back to his family whom he adored and was so proud of.
He had a full life that I so enjoyed hearing about.
I am richer for having known Lee.
He is missed.
My heart goes out to you Julie and Lee’s entire family.
