My deepest sympathy goes out to Cherie's immediate family, her mother, Helen, son, Jason, brother William and sister my Mom Pat Walsh. I'm sorry that I can't be with you at the Memorial Service. I do have some very fond, early childhood memories of Cherie. I remember sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpop's house when I was about 3 or 4, and sneaking to watch "Batman" on T.V. with Cherie. I couldn't watch it at home because Mom and Dad thought I was too young. I remember Cherie handing down all her Barbie dolls to me and my sister, Marion, when she was too old to play with them. Marion and I thought Cherie was the coolest! I remember visiting Grandma, Granpop and Cherie in Florida when I was about 6 and Cherie was about 12. She had just bought Carol King's "Tapestry" album and we were singing along with the words together. She was the first person to tell me that I had a good singing voice. I still love that album. The next time I saw Cherie I was 15. She and her husband, Barry, had us over for dinner. I met my younger cousin, Jason, for the first time. I remember checking out Barry's new McIntosh PC circa 1980 and Cherie making baked Alaska for dessert. I had not had it before, nor have I had that delightful dessert since! Cherie was always very sweet and kind to me. I was very sad over the news of her death. These memories came flooding back when I heard of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with my mom, grandmother and Jason. I wish I could be with you all on Tuesday.
