I always enjoyed his company and friendship. He was very easy going and was like a father to me. I also enjoyed his sense of humour and taking the time to show me things he had done or current projects that he would be working on, out in his garage.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
John,
I'm so very sorry to hear about your father. I know you were very close to him and that this must be very hard on you and your family. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and if there is any way I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Eileen

Betty, John & Lisa,
I am very sorry for the loss you are experiencing. Although myself, Jennifer and Sara have not known Macie very long, the memories we have of him of the past few years are very wonderful. Macie was a wonderful man with a heart made of gold and hands that could create a masterpiece. We will always remember Macie as a man with humor, love, kindness, and above all, a man who loved John Deere tractors. We will miss him dearly. Please remember that all of you are in our hearts and our prayers.
Love, Sandi, Jennifer and Sara

Dear Aunt Betty, John and Lisa,
I can't tell you how sad I am for your loss. I remember Uncle Jr as a man with a great love for his family and for his family here in Missouri. I will never forget your trips here to Missouri and the fun that we had together when you visited. This is truly a loss for everyone but we will always remember just how much he loved everyone around him and made them laugh. We love you all, Teresa David and family.

Betty, John and Lisa:
I have many fond memories that I shared with your father and your family growing up. As a teenager, I remember many a breakfast served at the Anders homestead following a night at the funeral home with John not to mention, many a dinner the night before. Whether we were celebrating a holiday at your parents house or playing on the toys dune buggy and others your parents were always graceful hosts and your father was always there to partake in the fun along with the rest of us. I remember Macie helping John and me turn the hood scoop of my old Camero Z-28 into a functional item; helping to put traction bars on the various sport cars; going to Sunshine Speedway to watch stockcar races and the drags; helping to arrange his other tractor buddies for the "All American Iron Show" at the Ribfest for 3 or 4 years in a row; and most recently your dad's gracious spirit and skill as a welder that reinforced my bed by making me a custom frame that allowed me to finally get a good night's sleep no cracks John.
I can truly say that I will always remember your dad as a quiet man with a friendly smile and kind word for everyone. Even when he became sick and began his various treatments, he still had a smile and a kind "hello" when he would stop by the office with Betty in the van.
I know you all will miss him dearly, but instead of remembering these last few months, think of the wonderful times you shared together and all of the things he taught you.
Please know that Nikki, Bailee, Joshua and I are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
John T. McQueen and Family

I remember when I was a teenager and spending a lot of time at the house with Lisa, Mr. Anders was always a practical joker and always so pleasant to be around. Very much a family man. I am so sorry to hear of the families' loss.
