As the saying goes, "He who sings, prays twice". In that way, all who lifted their voices under John's direction offered a far more eloquent and beautiful prayer than they otherwise would have. My deepest sympathies to you in this time a loss.

Dear Roberta and Girls,
I want to express my deepest sympathies to you in your loss. John was a very fine man and I remember with great fondness the many opportunities he afforded me as I began my vocal career as a voice major at UConn in the early 1960's. I especially remember the trip in 1962 to Martha's Vineyard when Cecelia fell in love with a huge dog on the ferry ride and my trying to reassure you that the dog wouldn't devour her!!! I know that John will be sorely missed but at last will be in eternal peace.

Dear Roberta, Please accept my deepest sympathy for you and the girls. Some of the best times of my life were when you and John were our neighbors. Thank you for so many good memories. Jane PS: I'd have written a note, but couldn't find your address online. Jane
