Obituary of John A. Poellein

Poellein, John A., 67, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday September 6, 2001 at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Orlando, he came here in 1985 from Storrs, Connecticut. He was a Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Connecticut, retiring in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Choral Directors Association and St. Peter?s Episcopal Cathedral. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Roberta M. Poellein, 3 daughters, Cecelia Poellein Buss of Seattle, Washington, Gretchen Ginnerty of McLean, Virginia and Marilyn Swan of St. Petersburg, a sister, Claire Robinson of Orlando, Florida, 7 grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews.
